So, let's hit the redo button for today. Got to work later than usual (7:30) and started to work on CFC stuff. So far, so good. Then the call comes in from Eli's school that he is ill. Fun. Take care of him most of the day while working from two different email accounts that cannot coexist on the same device using the same software. Pick up the twins and head downtown to pick up Rachael. We wait for her to wrap up what she can and then head to the chiropractor. You know...the good kind of pain :D Run over to the Publix and load up on some goodies. Driving down Manning street and bam! Scooter comes around the curve and crosses the lane, wobbles, and tries to limbo under our car. Luckily he was going really slow and we had stopped the car as far over to the right as we could before he hit us. He had a few cuts, but seemed ok. His first words "Don't call the cops." My first thought, this is going to be fun. While he is picking up his scooter and trying to tell me that he needs to just leave, I remove the ignition key. He starts looking around for it which gave the police plenty of time to get there. They were there almost immediately. He gets checked out and refuses treatment, but needs some stitches. A little boozy and on a revoked license. Awesome. The driver tells me that he's been doing it for 3 years and then crosses his fingers as if to say so far, so good. Really? Just now getting home and not as hungry as I was before. Surely there is an easier way to manage hunger than scooter dodging. As crazy as this sounds, this is the type of chaos we roll with :D No one was seriously injured. The damage doesn't look too bad. A bad driver is off the road. And last (but not least) it is almost the kids bedtime and I have wine. :D Watch out folks, you never know what is coming around the turn!
